Philanthropy

Serving the St. Louis Community.

Engaging with and uplifting our surrounding community.

From volunteering at local St. Louis animal shelters, fundraising for causes that members are passionate about, and tackling a consulting project for a small business, PGN members intimately engage with their immediate community at WashU and outside of it. They collaborate, listen to their clients’ needs, and work to create positive, sustainable change.

When given the ability to do good, it is imperative that we reach out to those in need and fulfill our social responsibility. As philanthropy chair, I am honored to help PGN serve our local communities through the most basic acts that result in the most fulfilling outcomes.

Consulting Projects

Each semester, PGN members form a Philanthropy Consulting Team and partner with a St. Louis-based organization or small business. Their mission is to generate creative and strategic solutions to advance their clients’ interests. In the photos below, our team worked with The St. Louis Mosaic Project, an organization helping immigrants expand their professional networks, and presented a marketing strategy to support their efforts to increase traffic.

PGN x OBS

In an initiative led by Eric Song and Melissa Guo, PGN partnered with the Organization for Black Struggle (OBS) in the summer of 2020. OBS is one of St. Louis’ oldest Black-led organizations and addresses issues facing the Black working class, such as the prison industrial complex, workers’ rights, healthcare, public education, and housing.
